Professional violinist, Mr. Ryan Ip graduated from Western University and has over fifteen years of teaching experience. Over the past years, Mr. Ryan has taught students from age four and all levels in Markham, Ontario. Through Mr. Ryan's inspiring teaching method, he guides students to reach their full potential and builds up their self-confidence.
Mr. Ryan is a friendly, flexible, and patient person. Little kids love being around with him while adult students enjoy the conversation during lessons. He always enjoys communicating with parents and encourages them to get involved in their children’s learning experiences.
Philosophy
Mr. Ryan believes that learning a musical instrument should be a fun experience, therefore he always wants his students to enjoy and have fun during their lessons and practices. He strongly emphasizes on foundation development, because you can only build higher if you have a good solid foundation.
Bibliography
Born in Hong Kong, Ryan Ip started learning the violin at the age of 8. By the age of 13, he finished the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 8 with distinction. After moving to Canada with his family, Ryan continued his violin studies in Toronto. Later, Ryan enrolled at the University of Western Ontario, Don Wright Faculty of Music with the Scholarship of Excellence to further study music theory and violin. During his time at the university, he studied violin with Steven Kruse, the principal violist of the Kansas City Symphony, Flint Symphony, and Windsor Symphony, and Virginia Barron, a member of the Chicago Symphony. He also studied music composition with Canadian composers, Omar Daniel, and Paul Frehner.
